Tom Garrett has the background and experience to represent the citizens of the 22nd District today.
- Served his country in the United States Army from 1995-2000. Served as a fire supporter and operations officer in the United States and overseas.
- Veteran, Operation Joint Endeavor. Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, NATO Ribbon, National Defense Service Ribbon among others.
- Graduate, University of Richmond, and Richmond’s T.C. Williams School of Law.
- Established Louisa’s CSI (Child Safety Initiative) with no new costs to taxpayers. To date, CSI Louisa has caught and convicted dozens of child predators, and set and broken numerous sentencing records with sentences ranging from over one-hundred years to life.
Proven
Tom brings his experience as an elected top prosecutor in both Virginia and Federal Court.
- Earned maximum sentences on Forest Smithers and Timothy Gray murder cases. Ensured that double-murder Ulisa Chavers will spend the rest of her life in prison.
- Worked on Bob McDonnell’s Youth Internet Safety Task Force, helped to design what has been called America’s best Youth Intenet Safety program.
- Worked at the General Assembly as a Legislative Aide to Conservative Firebrand Delegate Bill Janis.
- A Cuccinelli Conservative, Tom advised Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli on US vs. Melendez-Diaz as well as internet crimes issues.

As a father of two young children, Tom Garrett shares our concerns about the future.
- Father of two children: Carolyn, twelve, and Laura five, who attend Piedmont Christian School.
- Tom grew up in rural Virginia, graduating from Louisa County High School before attending University of Richmond on an ROTC scholarship.
- Earned an ‘A’ rating from the National Rifle Association (NRA rating 2007)
